Host: Cox Communications in partnership with American-Israel Chamber of Commerce
Purpose:

Bring together emerging technology companies from Israel and the Southeast with major US companies involved in cable broadband to provide:

  • Exposure to a wide range of unique, cutting-edge broadband technologies from Israel and Southeast US in a very concise and productive setting.

  • Pre-arranged one-on-one meetings in order to foster joint venture R&D, investment, marketing alliances, and other forms of cooperation.

  • A forum for leading technology, operational and investment broadband executives to network.
US Companies: Cable companies (MSO's), equipment/ infrastructure vendors, systems integrators, content providers, and VC's. In addition to Cox, the following are examples of companies that are expected to participate: Comcast, Time-Warner, Rogers, Scientific-Atlanta, Arris, Philips, Intel, C-Cor, Synacor, Cox Enterprises New Media Group, Microsoft, Turner, Intel Capital, EGL Ventures, HIG Ventures, Noro-Moseley Partners, Seed Capital Partners, Battery, and Kinetic Ventures.
Israeli/Southeast US Companies: Emerging technology companies in the areas of digital and IP video; multimedia technologies; operating and provisioning systems; content management; voice over IP; wireless voice, data and video; Internet security applications; and interactive television applications.
Modus Operandi:

This event differs from a typical industry show or investor conference in that the participation is based on a pre-event matching procedure.

  • Major US broadband companies are asked to identify technology areas of interest and to pre-select, from a prospect list, the emerging technology companies that they would like to meet with at the event.

  • Emerging companies are requested to specify which major US companies they would like to see, and are included on the prospect list presented to the US companies.

  • The top twenty emerging companies will do short presentations at the event to be followed by pre-arranged one-on-one meetings. At the event, opportunity is given to arrange additional meetings.

  • Optional on-site visits; special workshops on Issues related to "Doing Business with Israelis"; keynote presentations; receptions.
Background:

Atlanta is a major center for Telecommunications with noted leadership in Cable Broadband. Home to Cox Communications, one of the nation's largest cable service providers, the community has also spawned some of the major equipment and infrastructure vendors to the industry including Scientific-Atlanta, Arris, and more. Through the Georgia Center for Advanced Telecommunications Technologies and Georgia Tech's Broadband Institute, the industry has access to state support and academic research resources for major corporations and emerging companies.

Israel is one of the world's most dynamic sources for high tech companies and with original and cutting edge technologies, particularly In the field of communications. The country has produced over 4,000 start-ups in the past few years, and has a robust venture capital industry to support entrepreneurs. Outside the US and Canada, Israel has more companies publicly traded on the US exchanges than any other country. Virtually every major US technology company has development operations in Israel or investments in Israeli companies including IBM, Motorola, Cisco, Microsoft, HP, and more. A joint US-Israel foundation, BIRD, supports joint venture R&D projects between American and Israeli companies.
