Please get back to us by February 2nd to let us know if you are able to visit GEDC.

Background

The Georgia Electronic Design Center, a multidisciplinary center of Georgia Tech, advances the state's mixed-signal technology leadership by building critical mass in its many areas of excellence, including subsystem solutions for wireless LAN, enterprise serial interconnects and reconfigurable communication nodes. The Center supports cutting-edge research, deep and meaningful industry collaboration, intellectual property generation and revenue generating commercialization efforts.

Approximately 380 student, faculty researchers and staff from Georgia Tech's School of ECE work closely with industrial and federal labs to solve pressing "Next Generation Communications" challenges. The Center currently receives $10M annually from state, federal and industry sources and has 39 research partners, making it one of the largest industry supported research programs at Georgia Tech.

The Center's research, in collaboration with Advanced Technology Development Center seed funding, has spawned six start-up companies. Research and applications developed here produce marketable technologies for a variety of clients in Georgia and throughout the world.

Purpose

GEDC's research is broadly focused on fostering technology at the intersection of today's mixed-signal communications applications: wireless/RF, wired/copper and fiber channels. The activities of GEDC provide the State of Georgia the opportunity to grow and expand its technology leadership in the design of mixed-signal communications systems, devices and integrated circuits. The Center is specifically focused on innovative research on mixed-signal systems at the boundary between telecommunications, microelectronics, and analog/RF. These efforts produce large, funded partnerships with industry that attract new jobs to the state and support smaller, start-up companies that create new jobs for Georgians.
